Ascending Aorta Subcostal View

Description

Maintaining the probe position as described for Atrial Subcostal View, the probe is then angled slightly anterior and rotated slightly clockwise to view the left ventricular outflow tract and the aortic valve. Colour Doppler examination of the outflow tract shows laminar flow. The two blue jets to the left of the ascending aorta are the branch pulmonary arteries.
